Get your kids to eat a healthy breakfast
We know it seems like an impossible task but it's important to get your kids to eat something of nutritional value before they tear off to school. Here are some real kid-pleasers as well as ways that you can save yourself time (and stress!) in the morning.
- Sprinkle a sachet of Huletts EquiSweet Classic or EquiSweet with Sucralose over a bowl of plain yoghurt and fresh fruit for a deliciously healthy breakfast.
- Cut an orange or grapefruit in half and sprinkle some sugar over each half for a sweet and juicy start to the day.
- Stir a spoonful of Huletts Caramel Sugar into your morning coffee for a deliciously decadent flavour.
- Keep pancake or waffle batter in the fridge, ready to pour on the griddle early the next day.
- Bake muffins during the week, and keep them in the freezer, ready to warm in the microwave.
- Pizza for breakfast? Sprinkle cheese on muffins and microwave. They're a hit with most kids.
Party! Party!
Decade Decadence
Whether you're turning 21, 30, 40, 50, 60 and onwards, or you're celebrating decades of marriage or business partnerships, you will find a recipe here that will both congratulate and charm.
Whilst every year is a milestone worth celebrating, every decade is an extra special occasion that warrants the most spectacular spread.
That said, you don't have to wait for a birthday, anniversary or new millennium to party! If you're in the mood, just dim the light, play your best pumping music mix and invite all your friends around. (And your neighbours if you want to keep the peace.) Of course, music isn't the only thing that determines a party's success, what you serve plays a major role. Here are some ideas that will make sure your party is talked about long after the last song plays. In fact, let's make it the Party of the Decade!
Sweeten your party with some colour
- If you're having a tea party, make your sugar bowl look fancy by mixing Huletts Rainbow Sugar Crystals in with the Huletts White Sugar. Your guests will certainly be impressed by your attention to detail.
- If you're having a cocktail party, dip the rims of your cocktail glasses in lemon juice and then in Huletts Rainbow Sugar Crystals. The colourful crystals will coat the glass rims and add pizzazz to your cocktails.
Fun decorations take the cake!

Add a little charm to your tree
Who says decorations can't be tasty too?
Add some charm to your Christmas tree this festive season by decorating it with Christmas-themed ginger biscuits.
- Follow our recipe for Gingerbread People , but instead of gingerbread figures, cut out Christmas trees, baubles or bells. For a low kilojoule, low GI alternative, follow our recipe for Spicy Ginger Biscuits that uses SUGAlite.
- Leave the ginger biscuits to harden for a day.
- Decorate the edges of the ginger biscuits with colourful icing and silver balls.
- Make a hole near the top of each biscuit with the edge of a sharp knife and thread a piece of brightly-coloured ribbon through it.
- Tie the ends of the ribbon together and find a special spot on the tree for your dainty and delicious decoration.
Wrap your gifts with love
Home-made chutney makes a wonderful gift. Why not try one of our
delicious chutney recipes and gift-wrap each jar in an interesting and creative way!
Colour magic
Coloured tissue paper can make any gift more enticing. Wrap your jars of chutney in burgundy or green tissue paper to give the gifts some festive colour.
Stickers
Seasonal stickers are a fun way to decorate plain gift bags and tags, or to close gifts wrapped in cellophane.
Embellishments
Gifts can be made extra special by adding a bit of greenery to the packaging. Tuck an artificial leaf, holly or pine sprigs and a few cinnamon sticks into the bow to give the gifts a festive finish.
Personalised gift tags
A gift tag is another personal touch that can add value to the gift. It gives you the opportunity to exercise your creative writing skills and tell the recipient how much you care. The gift tags you attach to your chutney gifts could say something along the lines of, "Wishing you a season filled with flavour and festive cheer!"
