Basic Pound Cake

Ingredients250 g butter250 g (300 ml) Huletts Castor Sugar 5 ml vanilla essence 4 extra large eggs 250 g (450 ml) cake flour 60 ml milk |

Method
- Preheat oven to 160ºC.
- Lightly grease a 20 cm round cake pan and line the base and sides with non-stick baking paper.
- Place butter, castor sugar and vanilla essence in bowl of an electric mixer and beat for 10 minutes or until light and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. /li>
- Fold in the flour and beat lightly to combine.
- Fold through the milk.
- Spoon in the mixture and bake for 45-50 minutes until cooked when tested with a skewer.
- Allow to cool in pan.
- Turn out.
