Thirst quenchers

Lemon Syrup


Ingredients

1 kg Huletts White Sugar
1 litre Boiling Water
30 g Tartaric Acid
1 small bottle Lemon Essence

Method

  1. Combine the sugar and water. Bring to the boil and boil for 15 minutes. Make sure the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Leave to stand until almost cold, then stir in the tartaric acid and lemon essence.
  3. Mix well and bottle. This makes a concentrated syrup.
  4. To serve, pour 2 tablespoons of the syrup into a glass and fill with water or soda water.
